Stopped in with my best friend for lunch before going down the street to look at cars. First CASH Only so plan ahead. We walked in and was greeted immediately, ask if take out or eat in. We sat down and was ask about drink as soon as we sat down. Drinks came then ordered food which came out super quick. Pretty sure the food was made ahead, but it doesn't matter because it tasted wonderful. I mean seriously I bet this place is packed during main meal times. This is basically a bunch of tables and chairs. I will gladly come back here again, I am hoping for Friday's because they have catfish nuggets. And I hope to try dessert next time as well.

This place has great food some of it is not to my liking but that fried chicken is worth the trip.

We ate here twice last week during the convention in Indianapolis. A local golfer recommended this place when I ask him to recommend home cooking or soul food. I ordered the Manhattan beef and we ordered fried chicken. Both were awesome.

So absolutely delicious!! We came here for my sisters birthday with family and it was so good. The staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing. I got the fried fish, sweet potatoes, collard greens, cabbage, and the hot water cornbread. Lunch specials were great!! Definitely recommend.

My party of 4 went for lunch on 12/16 because I knew the food would be good and no one else had ever been there. We were the 2nd customers of the day. The exterior was clean and there is plenty of parking. Our waitress (Tasha) was on top of her job. She treated us like no one was a stranger. The food was hot and presentation was good. Our table had everything from baked chicken, fried chicken, fried fish, ribs, mac n cheese, greens, sweet potatoes & green beans. All I heard was, "This is the best fried chicken ever!" I heard, "This Mac n cheese is soooo good!" There was some lips smacking too. Then, to top it off, we ordered 1 slice of pecan pie (for 4 ppl to share) because we were all full. Delicious is the only way to describe the food. Hospitable is the only way to describe the service. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Tonight I FINALLY was in the right place at the right time with a nose that could actually smell and a tongue that could taste again. I guess BOTH wanted to make up for #lost good eats because the idea of soul food for dinner would not leave my mind. I'd heard that Mississippi Belle (near Broad Ripple) was one of Indianapolis's hidden gems, but the exterior of the restaurant does little to draw hungry patrons in. And that's the reason for over 25 years I've just driven right on past, instead of feeding my curiosity. Look what happened this evening when I finally walked through the front door! Sure, I might have wanted to taste ALL THE THINGS and requested something that you won't #find on the menu, but I'm telling you! WHATEVER you get at Mississippi Bell will NOT disappoint! #Getlostindiana

MB is always going to remain one of my fav soul food spots in Indy. The food is fresh, service fast and its a great local vibe. It is also an all you can eat family style setup so come prepared to EAT! The sweet tea is a treat too! Also, don't forget to bring cash..it's cash only! They do have an ATM if you tend to forget like me!

Newly remodeled after a fire in 2019, the Belle is back!! The interior got a nice transformation & the food is just as delicious as ever. Dinner here with loved ones feels like coming home. Don't forget to bring cash, though they do now have an ATM in case you forget.

Being from TN, I crave good Southern food all the time but there aren't many places to get it. Enter Mississippi Belle. The concept is great. You order your own meat and then decide with your table on four sides that are served family style. Plus a plate of cornbread, tomato, and onion is added...and seriously, what is more Southern than sliced onion with your meal?!? The sweet tea is so sweet it will lock your jaws, and that's when I knew the meal was gonna be good. I got the fried chicken and it was incredible. Juicy, crispy, all the things. And they have the hot sauce on the table for you cuz they know what's up. For sides, I tried the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Both were really good. I will absolutely be back! They are cash only which I didn't realize but have an ATM inside.
